Hi guys, hope your all doing good. It’s a bit soggy at the moment but isn’t it always this time of year! There is still a few places about to ride so theres no excuse for not being ready for the first race of the year. Its a shame Blythburgh has been closed so much over Christmas and this year, much the same as Rushmere, i don’t really understand why, of course some times theres not a lot you can do if it rains the day before but its just a little frustrating as we have some of the best draining soil in the country around here and it just need somewhere to go. Its tough as i know the guys at Blythburgh do it for next to nothing so you cant say anything, as its thanks and a credit to them that the place is still there. i wish i had more time so that i could help keep them running in the winter. I’m sure that will be something i’ll do once i stop racing. My pre season has been really good and i’ve adjusted to the ktm really well. I went to Spain for a couple of week mid Jan and it was a really successful trip. I had my first race of the year last weekend at Hawkstone park which went really well, i had a 5th in the first race which i was happy with as i had arm pump and couldn’t really push. Second race i was feeling much better but my bike started to overheat and lose a bit of power so i pulled it so i didn’t damage the motor further. Then i went out on my spare bike and got a 10th in the super final and i felt really comfortable doing it. Hawkstone is a tough track and i just wanted to have a smooth steady day and i could of pushed a lot harder than i did, but there was no need. Have a good few weeks practicing guys and make sure your ready for the first meeting of the season. Failure to prepare, prepare to fail. Go hard #45
